If I was perfect

Copyright April 4, 2017

If I were perfect

The world would not need me

I would soar through life

Never needing another to survive to be

All in my world would be calm

All I do, would be like the perfect song

Harps from Angels would play

Absorbing me into heaven on earth I could not stay

But perfect I fail to be

Perfection not yielding from me

I thrive upon each mistake

Savoring each error like a bite of steak

I throw out a fake fa├žade

An image for each and all

They see what I wish to be

One day into perfection I will grow you'll see

So far now I toil to improve

Step-by-step I work through

Grading myself upon a scale

Wanting to be more but I still fail

Now I question my life

Confused about perfection in my sight

Striving for less mistakes

Could that be my mistake?

So now I focus on my Fails

Each one I have done so well

In error there is perfection

There is success in failure as a selection

Choosing the selection of fail

Upon my choice Angels harps wail

A lifetime brought into clarity

To be imperfect is perfect as well
