The battle goes well

The last charge broke

The line of the Fallen

“My Captain! Look!”

Fast descending

A ray of light

“I wonder...”

“What brings the Messenger.”

“This but a single battle.”

Single battle... soon over

As the line broke, the Fallen...

Fall back to the Void

I watch...

The Messenger leaves

The General sees

“You there!”

He who is like God

Commands... I obey

Windless air, I fly

To my General

“My Lord?”

“Son of God has been born.”

The General, speaks

“It must be announced.”

“Again, my Lord?”

The reason of the Messenger

I should have known

Once again

Son of God is born

Saviour of the species

“Yes. Again.”

“Gather a company.”

“Go. Announce it. And report.”

“As you command, my Lord.”

“Where is it?"

“This time?”

“Other side of the universe.”

“It is in the missive.”

I bow... fly to my company

“Lieutenant!”

“Son of God has been born.”

"We are going to announce it.”

“Again, my Captain?"

“Yes. Again. Gather the company.”

“We must leave now.”

My lieutenant calls the soldiers

“Son of God has been born!”

I hear murmur

“Tidy yourselves!”

“We are going to announce a miracle!”

“To the other side of the universe!”

The Guide leads...

The heavenly host, my company

To the world of the birth

Blink of an eye

Time between time

Straight through the Creation

We come to the planet

Orbiting a yellow star

Descend from the heaven

And there were in the same country

shepherds abiding in the field,

keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,

and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:

and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not:

for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,

which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day

in the city of David a Saviour,

which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you;

Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes,

lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel

a multitude of the heavenly host

praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace,

good will toward men.

We ascend...

Leave the shepherds

Who go and see the child

Blink of an eye

Time between time

Straight through the Creation

We return

The edge of the universe

“I must report.”

"Well?"

He who is like God, awaits

“What do you think?"

“My Lord.”

“Comparing to preceding species.”

“They are more primitive.”

The General ponders

“What do you think?”

“Will He succeed this time?”

I am silent

As now I ponder...

Remember the earlier ones

Advanced, multiple sentients

Primitive, barely sentient

And everything in between

There has been no pattern

Of success, of failure

The Message is the same

Yet... Son of God

Sometimes succeeds

Sometimes fails

“My Lord, I can not tell.”

I shake my head

“There is no pattern.”

“No, Captain... and I’m curious...”

“Is it part of the Design?”

“Or is it more fundamental?”

“To repeat the Message.”

“Across universe and time."

“Until the end of all?”
